Warm ups are generally an opportunity to get to know each other in the moment. If that's a family session we will start with a traditional "posed" family photo. If it's a newborn session, it will be moving slowly so we both gain confidence in each other handling your precious baby. If it's your graduate, we will start with a "yearbook" like photo. And once we are warmed up, I'll start capturing candids with some structure.
I book for up to an hour but can usually capture the essence of your family in about 45 minutes (newborns I allow up to two hours).
Once I get back to my studio (aka, home) I will gently edit approximately 50 photos and create a gallery for you. Then you'll receive an email with a link to your gallery that will include a download PIN for the entire gallery.

Throughout these 20 years photographing families, time and time again my clients haven't hesitated at the price because they know the value they're receiving when they book with me. The experience throughout the process, how they feel during the session, and the ooh's and aah's while viewing the finished gallery. These are just a few steps in the process, but they are highly valued by my clients.
One of the best ways I can serve you is to provide you with ALL the gently edited digital photos in the gallery. No up-sale. No picking and choosing or spending more because you want all the photos. This is an all-in all-inclusive fee. It's my way of saying YES to all of them for you. It's saying I value each of these photos so much I want you to have them all.
Additionally, each client receives an 8x8 album of their gallery curated by me as a way of saying thank you for choosing me and, more importantly, a tangible product to have forever, in your hands and for the next generations to come.
Many years ago during an extended family session I had a family member whisper a request to grab a headshot of each grandparent. Yes of course! Was my answer. From that moment on I realized how equally important it is to capture not only growing families but our elderly family members. Yes, we have plenty of photos (I hope!) of them throughout their years, but do we have them together as a couple or individually?
Before the session, the family member let me know that the grandmother was terminally ill with cancer. She shared because of some accommodations we’d need to consider regarding the location of the session. But during the session is when I understood best what she was asking, she was asking for a headshot as it will likely be used for her funeral. Indeed it was, and so was the headshot I took of her husband as he passed away just a few years after. It was then that I knew headshots of grandparents will be a must-capture when they are part of the session.
Let me tell ya, each time it’s their turn during a session, they get excited about it. They recall the last time they had one (most often as a high school graduate!) and how much they need it updated.
